Helping Community Organisers produce films and stories of ‘community organising in action’ (Paid placement)
Organisation name: Community Organisers
Placement opportunity: Promoting the work of our network to a wider audience through effective storytelling in words, photos, and video.
Location: Warminster, Wiltshire
Type of placement: I'm open to suggested ideas
Short summary: Community Organisers is the national, non-profit membership and training organisation for community organising.
Led by our members; we inspire thousands of people to get involved in community organising practice and join the growing movement of people across the country who are transforming their neighbourhoods for good.
This is an exciting opportunity for a student to join us for the summer and promote our network to a wider audience through effective storytelling in words, photos, and video.
What I am looking for: Over the summer we aim to improve our media resources; creating content that helps to tell the story of the work we do. As part of this, we will produce a series of short, snappy, inspirational ‘60-second interview’ videos with community organisers and leaders from across the country; capturing the spirit & achievements of community organising.
We’re looking for an enterprising, creative student with ‘people skills’ + experience in journalism, film making, photography, and the creation of online content.
The placement will involve meeting and listening to members of our network, visiting organisations, events; collecting stories to market through our website.
We’ll support the student to be creative in terms of inspiration and use of media. In return we’d welcome feedback on how we can improve our marketing + communications to our network & wider audiences.
