The Bay Trust is an environmental education charity based in Kent with two sites just 4 miles apart off the A258 between Dover and Deal. The Trust has on-site accommodation which will allow flexibility with this placement to enable students to stay at the Bay Trust for some or all of their placement. This can be discussed during an initial conversation about the opportunity.
The aim of the Trust is to improve lives through outdoor learning and connections with the natural world. In optimizing the use of their two sites and the learning programmes they deliver, The Bay Trust are working to grow public health and well being in communities.
This is an exciting opportunity for a student to join a developing charity for the summer and support them to drive forward positive impacts for environmental and social benefit.
What I am looking for: The Bay Trust specialises in providing outdoor learning through nature for children and young people from its Rippledown Outdoor Learning Centre. We are looking for a student with an interest and passion for education, particularly for vulnerable children and young people who have been marginalised from main stream schooling, to help us develop creative marketing materials that tell the story of the impact of our learning through nature programmes. The project will involve working with children accessing our summer holiday club, as well as an experienced team of teachers at our Rippledown Outdoor Learning Centre. The student will help us to disseminate best practice and impact of our work through social media, materials for the purpose of demonstrating the value to schools of engaging in these approaches and ideas around how we can develop volunteering opportunities for young people to work with us on a range of projects. The student will require advanced DBS clearance.
