Evaluating the impact of Family Compass’s mental health services on children & families
Organisation name: Family Compass
Project title: Evaluating the impact of Family Compass's mental health services on children & families
Type of project:
Short summary: Family Compass provides therapeutic 1:1 and group support for children, young people and families. We want to combine qualitative and quantitative techniques to obtain a clear picture of how we are performing as an organisation, and how we can improve in the future. In particular, we want to understand whether our support has an impact in three key areas: confidence and self-belief, positive relationships with others and the ability to manage strong feelings effectively. We currently use an in-house measure of these three outcomes pre and post support, as well as the SDQ (Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire), plus a simple evaluation form.
What I am looking for: We are looking for a student who is interested in the mental health of children and families and willing to work alongside our friendly team (either virtually or in person) to complete a thorough analysis of our impact, from 2017 to the current date. We need someone confident in data and statistical analysis, which will be combined with a qualitative analysis of individual comments and feedback. We may also require telephone interviews with parents/carers and/or children. We are open to further ideas of how to assess and record impact.
