Description: Devon NHs Partnership Trust have an active sustainability working group at their beautiful Green space site, Langdon Hospital, near Dawlish. The working group are keen to see more staff engaging with the recycling systems on site and in order to do so they appreciate better understanding of engagement and barriers needs to be gathered. We are seeking a student to partner with us for a piece of research that you can turn into recommendations to the Trust. We would like to understand the attitudes of our staff to recycling, identify any barriers they may see to engagement with our existing recycling systems and gain recommendations on how to increase recycling rates based on the information you obtain. Description: Devon NHS Partnership Trust have an active sustainability working group at their Langdon hospital site, an area of beautiful green space near Dawlish. A key priority for the Trust is to reduce our CO2 emissions and we are conscious that a significant contributing factor is staff travel. We are seeking a student to evaluate the CO2 emissions resulting from staff travel to and from our site. We would hope to be presented recommendations for reducing our CO2 emissions from staff travel based on the information and staff opinions gathered as a part of this research. Description: We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled undergraduate or postgraduate student to undertake a field based dissertation in Midlothian. The dissertation will focus on the mannequin style bollards installed near Mayfield Primary School and the effects they have on driver behaviour. The 4 bollards, decorated (as 2 boys and 2 girls) in local school uniform, were installed in March 2017 to raise awareness of the area being a school crossing point. There is a high volume of traffic in this area and it had been highlighted in the Midlothian Travel Plan process in 2016 as one that parents felt improvements could be made. The cost was £423.95 per bollard, the total project expenditure was £1,695.80 The student will look at whether these bollards have been effective in highlighting the school crossing area and changing driving behaviour compared to other school traffic calming measures. This is the first time mannequin bollards have been used in Midlothian. The student will work alongside school staff, pupils, parents, police and council officers and members of the community council to collate feedback and determine the safety value of the mannequin bollards. There will be an opportunity for the student to refine and shape the project.

Description: The Waterways Archive is the single biggest gathering of historic records relating to the UK’s inland waterways in the country. As such it is a collection of international significance. The archive tells the story of Britain’s canals, the role they played in the industrial revolution, their decline and eventual restoration. It remains a relatively underexploited resource so far as academic research is concerned and there are a whole range of different dissertations that could be constructed using it. Research using the Waterways Archive has the potential to:
• Contribute to our understanding of the evolution of industrial and transport history;

Description: Northamptonshire Parent Infant Partnership, Family Action, and Engage Antenatal CIC is delivering a 3 year funded project by the Big Lottery Fund to improve the outcomes of 300 families suffering from perinatal mental health issues, by providing intensive parent infant therapy (psychotherapy), a perinatal home visiting programme and a antenatal education programme.
Our hopes over the three years is to integrate our work into health care and challenge and change the way perinatal and infant mental health is cared for at both a provider and strategic level over the three years. We are seeking a dissertation student to analyse the impact of the programme, assess its efficacy and to track the long term health outcomes for children and their parents against a comparative cohort of parents not using the service (not a RCT, but statistical comparators).
This would ideally suit someone studying psychotherapy, health analysis, child development, mental health, or other psychodynamic disciplines. Research will be used widely with significant ramifiications in the NHS nationally.Name: Orchestras for All
