Short introduction: I am passionate about animal welfare and am particularly interested in abnormal behaviour in animals. I am also enthusiastic about the environment and hope to work in my local area to improve sustainability as well as to push for change nationally and globally to help reverse the affects of climate change.
Education, skills knowledge and experience: I have completed an Animal Management Level 3 Extended Diploma at South Devon College, achieving a Distinction in 2016-2018. I have recently started a Foundation Degree in Animal Science at South Devon College. I am a course representative and regularly attend meetings which help to ensure good communication and transparency between staff and students. I have practical experience working with various species of animals including livestock, exotics and small furries as well as volunteering with cats at Blue Cross Torbay. This year I will also be completing two weeks work experience at Paignton Zoo in the education department in the new year.
In the future I would like to work with big cats, specialising in studying and treating abnormal behaviour in animals that show signs of stereotypy.
