Dissertation category: Health & wellbeing
Dissertation theme: Euthanasia, the Suicide Act & ECHR Article 8
Short summary: A critical assessment of the current legal position of Euthanasia in the UK and the likelihood of a legal framework being implemented in the future.
Detailed summary: It will include ethical perspectives in favour of reforming current legislation in order to protect the terminally ill from suffering, and those considering committing suicide, or travelling abroad to be euthanised. This will be balanced with an in-depth evaluation of possible ways of introducing a system to legalise assisted dying whilst also considering the potential it has to be open to abuse.
